Updates

Excited to teach in the Sprott School of Business MBA program. This is a really great program and I am happy to share any information.

We also have launched the online MBA! It has been a great success.

I am continuing my work helping businesses create strategic plans after the pandemic. It has been hard on many businesses as they have been in reactive mode for years... it is nice to get back to proactive planning!

Proud of the work being done in health delivery in the Interior BC. It was an idea we had years ago to create a unified voice for First Nations. I'm proud to say that is now a reality.

"There are too many fun things to do in this world and so little time!"

I have had a varied and chaotic career journey so far, being a musician, entrepreneur, professor, CEO, senior manager, director on boards, ethics officer, economic developer, graphic designer, pandemic expert, and more. It had been an exciting journey and a lot of fun. One never knows where their career takes them, so I just followed my bliss.

I have ten years of experience teaching at the University level, including supervising research projects, PhD and Masters theses, and chairing PhD defenses. I was awarded the Teaching Excellence Award and have maintained consistently high teaching evaluations. I am also an experienced academic administrator. I have been privileged to hold several positions, including being a member of the Senate Financial Review Committee, MBA Curriculum Redesign Committee, and Bachelor of International Business Task Force. I am also the past chair of Carleton’s Aboriginal Education Council, coordinator of the Aboriginal Enriched Support Program, member of the Carleton University Institute on the Ethics of Research with Indigenous Peoples, and on the advisory board for the Centre of Indigenous Research Culture and Education.

I have over 30 years of experience in both public and private sectors, including experience working with senior officials, including Ministers, CEOs, and corporate directors. I work in several areas, including Crown and Corporate governance, ethics, policy, and sustainability.

Excellent ability to lead and conduct research. This includes extensive personal experience conducting interviews and collecting oral histories in Canada and internationally. I have overseen several multi-million dollar research budgets and grants over my career.

I pride myself in being an expert in cross-cultural and inter-cultural communications and enjoy working with NGOs, Governments, Indigenous communities, and corporations worldwide. I have extensive international travel experience and have enjoyed many cultural exchanges in over 40 countries. I have spent extended periods living in Canada, the United States, Thailand, and France.

I have a passion for board governance, and I have excellent experience as a board member and chair, as well as working on executive, audit, governance, and nominating committees.
